Projects

Utpat Foundation, a nonprofit organization, launched the Amhi Muli project on June 14, 2023 at Chunabhatti, Mumbai, India.

This project comprises of providing Feminine Hygiene Products, on a monthly basis, to Preteen-teenage school girls so as to ensure uninterrupted attendance in school during their menstrual periods.

Additionally, this has provided us the opportunity to raise awareness and educate the girl child to learn about health and hygiene issues in general and take care of themselves while they are on their period.

This project was launched in collaboration with Swadhar – a non profit organization which provides school supplies to girl children of school age and takes care of their education by raising funds.

The day of June 14, was intentionally chosen to launch the Amhi Muli project as this preceded the beginning of a new academic year 2023 in the city of Mumbai, located in state of Maharashtra, India.

We hope to provide the necessary resources to the school age girls which might mitigate the intermittent school absences and eventual school drop outs due to lack of provision of products necessary to get through the day while the girls are in the schools and classrooms.

We are hopeful that this will contribute to finishing their middle and high school and inspire them to pursue further studies to become socially responsible, emotionally and finally self-reliant young women.
